YTY Donates One Million Medical Gloves to Support Emergency Health Services in Ukraine

As the war in Ukraine continues to rage unabated, resulting in thousands of casualties and millions of people displaced, YTY has stepped up to donate one million premium quality medical-grade nitrile examination gloves to support emergency health services within the country.

The Ukrainian healthcare system currently faces monumental challenges in providing critical medical care to frontline troops, first responders, and medical professionals. Healthcare providers within the country are in desperate need of basic medical equipment, especially and including medical gloves, in order to limit the spread of infectious disease and to provide hygienic medical services to those most in need.

Vikram Hora, Chief Executive Officer, YTY Group, notes, “We are profoundly saddened by the human and economic impact this conflict has had, not only on the people of Ukraine, but on the entire region at large. As winter arrives, temperatures drop, and vital infrastructure required to power hospitals and medical clinics gets targeted, there is an essential need for humanitarian aid in the affected territories.”

Vikram further notes, “We are pleased to have worked closely with the Embassy of Ukraine in Malaysia, despite extremely challenging logistical conditions, to find a way to get these essential medical products through to Ukraine. We commend the people of Ukraine for their valor, bravery and courage, and stand by them as they defend their country against those that seek to threaten our shared values of freedom and democracy.”

Denys Mykhailiuk, the Charge d’affaires at the Embassy of Ukraine in Malaysia commented, “On behalf of the Ukrainian people, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to YTY Group for this critical humanitarian support. We hope YTY’s contribution encourages other donors to step forward and help Ukraine as we fight for our freedom, our values, and our people.”
