YTY Holds Donation Drive for Three Lekir Orphanages

In the spirit of giving during the celebrations for “Hari Merdeka,” the official Independence Day for Malaysia, YTY launched a company-wide CSR initiative to bring joy to the children of three orphanages in the Lekir neighbourhood of Perak.  These orphanages were Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Sanathana (Padang Astaka), Rumah Waswasan Orphanage (Desa Manjung), and Rumah Haruman Kasih (Ayer Tawar).

Led by Nantha Nadaraja, Assistant Vice-President for Customer Logistics, along with employees from the Customer Logistics, Order Management and Human Resource departments, YTY tapped on the generosity of its various corporate teams to give back to the community, and particularly the children of these orphanages.  Donations provided by YTY employees included clothing, books, toys and contributions of cash.

Nantha notes “It was heart-warming to see the surprise and delight this event brought to the children.  The immense happiness on the young faces of these wonderful kids as they received their gifts was a reward we will not only cherish, but use as an inspiration for future such events.”

He went on to praise the warmth and generosity of YTY employees that participated, indicating “it was a momentous occasion and a noble opportunity for each and every one of us to be engaged in a community outreach effort in respect of our local community.  I hope our efforts will positively impact the lives of these underprivileged kids, and have them recognize that they, too, are valued and loved.”

YTY Group takes its social and community responsibilities seriously, and continuously strives to improve, benefit and enrich the lives of those in the communities within which it operates.
